TITAN PUBLISHING AND BETHESDA SOFTWORKS ANNOUNCE DISHONORED COLLABORATION

Facebooktwitterredditmail

London, May 25, 2016: Titan Books and Bethesda Softworks are delighted to announce a multi-platform publishing partnership for Dishonored 2, the next chapter in the award-winning Dishonored saga by Arkane Studios. This exciting multi-platform publishing programme from Titan Books and the Titan Comics divisions includes three original novels, an all-new new four part comic mini-series, and a graphic novel collection that will bridge the story of events between Dishonored, the first-person action blockbuster and winner of more than 100 ‘Game of the Year’ awards including the BAFTA for ‘Best Game of 2012’, and the upcoming highly-anticipated new instalment to the series, Dishonored 2.

Dishonored Comic Collection from Titan Comics:

The first official Dishonored tie-in comic in the series from Titan Comics will release in August 2016. Three additional instalments in the comic series will follow, releasing in September and October. The series will be collected together for a graphic novel, which will be available in November 2016.

The city of Dunwall; whaling capital of Gristol and industrial hub of the Empire of the Isles.

Twelve years have passed since Corvo Attano scuppered the Lord Regent’s duplicitous plot against the crown and cleared his name of the Empress Jessamine’s murder.

Now a little older and perhaps a little wiser, Corvo sets his sights on the future and securing an apprentice to continue his legacy.  But when confronted by an impossible face from his past, the supernaturally-gifted assassin finds himself drawn once again into an otherworldly conspiracy, one that threatens to shake the very foundations of his ancient city.

Series writer Gordon Rennie is a stalwart of the UK comic scene whose writing credits include the original series, White Trash, as well as his work for cult magazine, 2000 AD, on iconic characters and properties, including Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper. Rennie is joined by artists Andrea Olimpieri (pencils/inks) and Marcelo Maiolo (colourist) whose art credits include Batman Beyond for DC Comics and Old Man Logan for Marvel Comics.

Dishonored – The Corroded Man from Titan Books:

Titan Books will publish Dishonored – The Corroded Man in September 2016, the first in a series of three books by Adam Christopher. The first book will be followed by two forthcoming novels, scheduled to be released in 2017, that will continue the adventures of the game’s protagonists – Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin.

Dishonored – The Corroded Man takes place following the events of Dishonored, Arkane’s blockbuster action-adventure game, which released in 2012 to huge critical and commercial success, and bridges the story through to the highly-anticipated Dishonored 2.

Adam Christopher is a novelist, comic writer, and award-winning editor. The author of The Burning Dark and the LA Trilogy and co-writer of The Shield for Dark Circle Comics, he has also written original tie-in fiction for the Elementary television series, including Elementary – The Ghost Line, a current Scribe 2016 award nominee.

Fans of the acclaimed Dishonored game franchise will be delighted to be able to immerse themselves further than ever before into the game’s world with Titan Books and Titan Comics providing the perfect companion material to the exciting next instalment of the game.

Dishonored 2 is slated to release worldwide on Friday, November 11, 2016 for the Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system and PC. Play your way as a supernatural assassin in a world where mysticism and industry collide. Will you choose to play as Empress Emily Kaldwin or the royal protector, Corvo Attano? Will you make your way through the game unseen, make full use of its brutal combat system, or use a blend of both? How will you combine your character’s unique set of powers, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies? The story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game’s hand-crafted missions.

PAUL CORNELL RETURNS TO DOCTOR WHO COMICS FOR AN UNEXPECTED TWIST ON THE THIRD DOCTOR!

Facebooktwitterredditmail

May 18, 2016 – BBC Worldwide North America and Titan Comics are excited to announce the return of the Third Doctor this August, in comics! This brand-new five-part comic series, written by fan-favorite Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell (Wolverine, Action Comics, The Severed Streets), stars the Third Doctor, as played by Jon Pertwee, alongside companions Jo Grant (Katy Manning) and the Brigadier (Nicholas Courtney) in classic Doctor Who action.

Hitting stores and digital platforms on August 31st, Doctor Who: The Third Doctor expands Titan Comics’ hugely popular and critically acclaimed Doctor Who comics, which already include adventures from the Fourth, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors.

Fresh off last year’s epic smash-hit, Four Doctors, Paul Cornell teams up with artist Christopher Jones (Young Justice, Marvel’s Avengers) to bring unexpected twists and turns to the lives of the Third Doctor and his companions in an all-new story, “The Heralds Of Destruction.”

Actor Jon Pertwee starred as the Third Doctor in 128 episodes from 1970 to 1974. Pertwee’s portrayal of the Doctor was a suave, dapper, and technologically oriented man of action, who spent his time stranded on Earth, working with the international military group UNIT.

When something enormous and extraterrestrial crashes into Bedfordshire, the Doctor, Jo Grant, and the forces of UNIT under Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart mobilize immediately to investigate – and find themselves in the middle of a pitched battle against a terrifying invader! But the shocking face that awaits their return to base may tip their whole world off its axis.

The debut issue comes with five variant covers to collect: three art covers by artists Josh Burns, Simon Myers, and Paul McCaffrey, a photo cover, and a blank sketch cover.

Retailers can order issue #1 of Doctor Who: The Third Doctor from the June edition of Diamond PREVIEWS. This all-new storyline in the world of an old classic will delight longtime fans and freshly converted Whovians alike. Fans can find their nearest comic store at ComicShopLocator.com.

DOCTOR WHO TV SPINOFF, TORCHWOOD IS BACK, IN COMICS!

Titan Comics is excited to announce that Doctor Who TV spinoff Torchwood is back, in an all-new ongoing comic series starring the daring Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper.

Written by Captain Jack himself – John Barrowman – and Carole E. Barrowman, and with issues illustrated by Antonio Fuso (Drive, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest) and Pasquale Qualano (Batman ’66, She Hulk, Harley Quinn), this spectacular original ongoing series is not to be missed.

In continuity with the new hit Torchwood audio dramas from Big Finish, as part of the official continuation of the Torchwood saga, the comic arrives in stores on July 6 – the week of Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event – Saturday, July 9 2016.

The BAFTA-winning cult science-fiction drama by Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, which aired for four successful seasons from 2006 to 2011, follows the exploits of Captain Jack, Gwen (Eve Myles – Broadchurch), and their team as they investigate the unusual, the strange, and the extraterrestrial.

The hotly anticipated Torchwood comic sees Captain Jack return to Cardiff to engage the help of the last person who expected to see him again, Gwen Cooper! A dark technology from a forgotten species has been claimed by a conspiratorial power… and in this collision between an ancient civilization and an all-new evil, the Earth itself may be forfeit! Only Jack, Gwen, and their allies from what remains of Torchwood hold the key to stopping a cataclysmic wave of destruction… On the road, on the run, and under fire – can Jack and Gwen put aside their differences and rebuild the heart of Torchwood… before its flame is stamped out forever?!

The debut issue comes with variant covers to collect from Doctor Who superstar artists including Tommy Lee Edwards (Tenth Doctor, Turf), Elena Casagrande (Tenth Doctor, The X-Files), Blair Shedd (Ninth Doctor), and Rod Reis (Doctor Who, C.O.W.L.)!

Musings of a Blerd: April 26th is Alien Day

Facebooktwitterredditmail
Yesterday, Twentieth Century Fox proclaimed that April 26 will be known as Alien Day.  In a similar notion to last year’s Back to the Future Day, Alien Day will celebrate the science fiction horror franchise, Alien that started with the first film by Ridly Scott that was released in 1979. The date 4/26 is a nod to the exmoon LV-426 where the xenomorphs were first discovered by Ripley and her crew mates.

To celebrate, Fox has lots of products that will be released commemorating the glorious day. One such product is the release of a limited edition replica of AliensReebok Stompers. The shoes were worn by Ripley and the Android Bishop (Sigourney Weaver and Lance Henrikson) in the films, and will be available starting April 26th at Reebok.com and select Reebok stores around the globe.

Another product that will be released is an original drama from Audible.com titled Alien: Out of the Shadows.  Written by Tim Lebbon and Dirk Maggs, the  story takes place between Alien and Aliens, and stars Rutger Hauer, Corey Johnson, Matthew Lewis, Kathryn Drysdale, Laurel Lefkow, Andrea Deck, and Mac McDonald. You can read the synopsis below:

As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell – and trimonite, the hardest material known to man.

When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey. Hoop and his associates uncover a nest of Xenomorphs, and hell takes on a new meaning. Quickly they discover that their only hope lies with the unlikeliest of saviors….

Ellen Ripley, the last human survivor of the salvage ship Nostromo.
