About the Author
Raised on a diet of Stephen King novels, Bruce Lee action, John Landis films, and horror flicks by his loving mother, Anthony spent his formative years reading everything he could get his hands on and spending far too many hours in his room watching movies while drawing.  Anthony currently spends his evening coloring comics whilst Netflix plays in the background. After starting his own podcast The Next Element, Anthony found a group of like minded individuals on Twitter and found that if invited to a podcast the desire to blab takes him over.  Anthony is Knight of the Pod Table on the Spoiler Alert Theater podcast and can be found guest hosting all over the podiverse. Anthony has dealt with a 23 year addiction to comics and a longer addiction to movies. Even if he hasn't seen it or read it, he probably has an opinion about it.

Bachman’s Best – Pretty Deadly

The best thing I read last week was Pretty Deadly #1 by Image comics. Very simply as good a first issue as American Vampire if not better. This first issue of Pretty Deadly presents you with an introduction to a world like dipping a toe in a pond. It entices. It creates ripples, and then…

Bachman’s Best – Marvel News at NYCC 2013

The best thing I read last week actually wasn’t what Chris Ferrell on All Things Good and Nerdy thought it was gonna be, the return of an X-Factor written by Peter David. But always give credit where it is due, he was half right. And it’s not his fault. Marvel had more announcements for today…

Bachman’s Best – 10 Minute Podcast

The best thing I heard last week was the 10 Minute Podcast hosted by the hilarious trio of Will Sasso, Chris D’Elia, and Brian Callan. These three knuckleheads confess to be best friends in real life which must be the case because the amount of ball breaking that takes place on this podcast is of…

Bachman’s Best – Firefly

The best thing I saw last week was the complete run of Firefly. I again watched all 14 episodes over the week on Netflix streaming. I’ve done this 4 or 5 times since it became available on the Netflix instant queue, and this week I’ll probably watch the film Serenity again as for me…

Bachman’s Best – X-Factor #262

The best thing I read last week left me happy and also heartbroken. With a 6 issue story arc properly titled The End of X-Factor, Mr. Peter David brings his decade long run to a close, and I still have to say it’s too soon.  Luckily for us Peter David did have an end in…

Bachman’s Best – East of West

The best thing I read last week was the new issue of East of West by the superb team of Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin, and Rus Wooton.  I just finished reading issue #5 and I’m not ashamed to say that after issue #4 I really still had almost no idea of what the…

Bachman’s Best – The World’s End

The best thing I saw last week was the final installment of Edgar Wright’s much ballyhooed Cornetto Trilogy, The World’s End. Edgar Wright brings back his boys Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and set off this trilogy ender to end all enders with a bang! It’s all here people. The quick cuts, the great quips,…

Bachman’s Best – The Victories

The best thing I read last week was the spectacular new comic series The Victories by Michael Avon Oeming of Powers, Mice Templar and Guardians of the Galaxy fame. When I started reading about this beautiful cast of characters in 2012 I was actually very sad. I was upset when 3 issues in…

Bachman’s Best – DC Deck-Building Game

The best thing I played last week was the DC Deck-Building Game by Cryptozoic studios.  After the stunning review this game got from Gonna Geek’s very own ATGN/Tabletop Bebop podcast I got the idea that this would be a really good game for me, the wife, and our friends. We got it, we played, a…
