Hello folks out there in geekspace! Welcome to a new column on Gonna Geek written by yours truly. I had a few ideas that I thought would make a cool column that I wanted to share with you my fellow nerds and geeks. So here’s what you’ll be reading on this new column.
Comicmaniacs:
Previously featured on Fanboy Buzz, Comicmaniacs is where I do two things: I’ll go back in time and reminisce with the Classic Comic Review and I’ll also feature the Comicmaniac Spotlight which will showcase a person or persons who are in the comic book industry or who are just awesome geeks doing their thing in the geek universe.
Journey Into Manga and Anime:
Previously featured on Comics Crux, this weekly column is for those who are newbies to manga and anime as well as those such as myself who’ve been out of the manga and anime scene for a while and want to get back in it but don’t know where to start. There are four parts to this column and every Monday, they’ll be posted (hopefully).
Set to be featured each week on Monday are the following:
1. Mite Kudasai! (Watch!) Yonde Kudasai! (Read!)
I pick one-three anime series or films for fans to watch and I give my reasons why. One pick will be a classic anime while the other two will be a series that’s current/popular. I also pick one-two manga series that fans should read and my reasons why.
2. Tali’s Top ?
Once a month I’ll give mine own Top ? list which will be anime/manga/Japan related.
3. JIMAA Journal Entry
These journal entries feature different topics that I think otaku fans ought to know. Topics such as the following have been discussed:
-What is manga? What is anime? A brief history
-The genres of manga/anime
-important info/terms that fans should know.
4. Tali’s Manga & Anime Showcase
Once a month I’ll feature my favorite art, cosplay and AMV (anime music video) from around the web each week.
Finally, I have a few new ideas that I wanted to bring to this column and they are:
I’ll write my opinion or a misc. piece about a geek related topic.
Indie Artist Spotlight:
I’ll spotlight an indie artist.
Thorsday:
On this blessed day we shall give thanks for the Asgardian gods and I’ll make haste and post something Thor related for his fans to enjoy.
And there you have it! I hope that you’ll enjoy this column.
