Starling Tribune – Season 4 Edition – Episode 13: Sins Of The Father (A CW Network Arrow Television Show Fan Podcast)

The Official Arrow Podcast of the Gonna Geek Network

In a decidedly bittersweet week for Arrow, The Starling Tribune reporters Chris, Neil and Stargate Pioneer drop down their thoughts on what occurred on the screen within the episode “Sins Of The Father” and off the create with the battling DC and Arrow creative teams. The reporters run down the Father-Son/Daughter sets on the show and attempt to pick the “best” father of the bunch. The trio also attempt to identify the episode theme which has Neil confused and both SP and Chris going in opposite directions. Malcolm shows his true colors – again – and Oliver has to decide on how to deal with it (#severancepackage). The fight scenes were some of the most intense and complex since The Siege at the end of season 2 in Starling City. Nyssa and Laurel’s relationship continues to transform and possible strengthen as comrades. The Reporters also analyze The Calculator’s dual reveals to Felicity and Overwatch and how Felicity responds in kind. This week was a big shakeup for the reporter’s “Who’s In The Grave” predictions and Chris throws out a second hashtag for the episode #WallerStillLives. The reporters wrap up the episode with a list of Easter Eggs, Arrow News, Feedback and comments from the chat. Thank you for downloading and listening!

FACEBOOK: Deathstroke Unavailable To Arrow Producers; Waller’s Fate Not A DC Decision – Bleeding Cool…

While speculating on where the DC Comics character Deathstroke might land in the DC Films universe, Heroic Hollywood pointed to Arrow executive producer Ma

Stephen Jondrew

Stephen Jondrew The Slade Wilson story lines are some of the best stories in all of the Arrowverse. I think that it’s important for people to remember the history of the universe (CW) and this feels like a kick in the face to that. I have always enjoyed Batman and Superman movies to some degree, I really enjoyed Man of Steel. However, actions like this (if true) kind of make me wish that the upcoming films flop and we see them disappear for a decade. Ya, i said it.

Bachman’s Best – Arrow

Facebooktwitterredditmail

arrow-tv-show-poster

The best thing I saw last week was Arrow. More specifically the mid-season finale of season 2 of Arrow on the CW, it was episode #9: “Three Ghosts”. A whole lotta story comes into play and plays out during this episode. This whole season has felt like it was building to this point each and every episode and this was a great pay off.

All in all you get a new look, two origins and a villain reveal all in this one episode. If you haven’t been watching this show you really are missing out. It’s no Oscar winning hard drama but it is damn sure entertaining week after week.  Being a fan of Smallville I had hoped that Arrow would take almost the same approach to the character of Green Arrow a.k.a. Oliver Queen and that is pretty much what they have done. If you were ever a fan of Smallville and didn’t give Arrow a chance for some reason I can’t currently fathom I cannot recommend this show highly enough. If you are just a fan of action get on this show and enjoy the ride. Between Netflix, Hulu, and The CW website you can get all caught up to the current running episodes.

One of the best bonuses are the Easter eggs in the show. Now I’m a comics fan but I am more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan and still I can usually pick out an Easter egg or two out of almost all episodes. For any true DC fans this show must be a huge joy each week.

Now I’m not going to go into specifics about the new episode but I will say the reveals were really fun and as much as I prefer Wally West in the books I have to say the actor playing Barry Allen is near perfection and brings joy to my heart in a way I haven’t felt since the John Wesley Shipp TV show The Flash got cancelled back in 1991. That show was also a blast. Plus with the creation of the Flash in the Arrow universe it appears DC is actually moving forward with using Arrow as a launching pad for introducing DC characters to the TV and hopefully movie universe.  If they follow through with this and we see Grant Gustin not only go on to play the Flash on his own show but also show up in the movie universe, well, DC will be going a long way towards trying to catch up with Marvel.

So go, give Arrow a try. And if you want a nice reference pod go give a listen to GonnaGeek’s own Starling Tribune – an all Arrow podcast. And after you are all caught up on Arrow join me in getting excited for the new Flash TV show that is scheduled to debut in 2014.

Deathstroke, Ninja Training, and Batman: Arkham Origins

Facebooktwitterredditmail

batman_arkham_origins_video_game-wide

As if the amazing trailers and super badass previous entries weren’t enough for Batman: Arkham Origins, Warner Bros. Games Montreal told Eurogamer that a single-player DLC will be set in Asia and allow you to play as Bruce Wayne training to become Batman. How cool will it be watching and actually participating in Batman becoming a ninja?

Hot on the heels of their reveal of a playable Deathstroke and a brand new Penguin trailer, the studio also dropped the bomb of a single-life, no-save, game mode for the hardest of hardcore players. When you die you’re dead.

The DLC, titled Initiation, will be included in the Season Pass @$19.99 and will come with 4 more DLCs. Three will be skins and the last is still unannounced. There is also an exclusive DLC pack for the PS3 crowd called Knightfall.

If the plethora of extra content isn’t enough, check out this online-order exclusive  replica of The Bat’s Grapnel Accessory available from Gamestop for $34.99.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be out October 25th on PS3, 360, PC, and Wii U.
