Gotham Nightline – Viper

Facebooktwitterredditmail

There’s something in the air and the Gotham Nightline crew is here to talk about it. Aside from covering the events of “Viper,” we discuss drug use, the Gallon Challenge, and Oedipus Complexes. Jonolobster coins a new phrase, AprilJo breaks down her theory for the rest of the season, and we bid a fond farewell to Billy, who leaves the show on a high note by leading us in a round of “yo momma” jokes. Listen and enjoy!

Gotham Nightline – Arkham

Facebooktwitterredditmail

This week, we’re checking ourselves into Arkham. Someone is killing off public figures (again), Jim and Barbara update their relationship status, and we finally get to the bottom of the corruption in Gotham: office supply thievery. Meanwhile, Fish Mooney is putting her own spin on American Idol and Penguin earns himself a promotion. April struggles to find a positive in how the show is treating women, Billy theorizes about a future use for the killer’s weapon, and Jon wonders how six extra episodes will affect the structure of the season. But does this episode earn our vote or does it belong in the toxic waste dump? Listen and find out!

[UPDATED] DC Announces Wonder Woman Film, Flash Film Casting News , And More

Facebooktwitterredditmail

justice league

Finally!

It took many years  but two years from now, DC will release a Wonder Woman film! I’m so excited about this, but there’s more.  According to Ben Fritz of the Wall Street Journal, a Suicide Squad movie will join Wonder Woman premiering in 2o16, the next year will bring  Justice League to the big screen.  In 2018, The Flash and Aquaman (starring Jason Momoa as the title character) will appear and in 2019  Shazam (starring the Rock as Black Adam) and Justice League 2 will arrive in theaters! But there’s even more I tell you! DC has plans for a Cyborg film, a Green Lantern reboot (please be John Stewart) and more of the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel!

This is awesome! I wish nothing but the best and I want DC’s films to succeed. They have great characters and it’s going to be amazing to see all of them interact on the big screen. On top of that, we’re getting solo films which star a woman and a black man as superheroes! And yes I know this has been done before successfully (Blade) and unsuccessfully (Supergirl, Elektra), but something tells me this will be different.  Okay Marvel it’s time for you to get the Black Panther, Black Widow and Captain Marvel films moving and on schedule. What are your thoughts my fellow geeks? Which one are you more excited for the Civil War news or all of this goodness from DC?

UPDATE:

We now know who’ll star as the Flash!  According to Variety it’s actor Ezra Miller (We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

the-flash-ezra-miller

In addition, they’ve got some info about the film’s story:

“The Flash” story revolves around Barry Allen, a scientist who awakes from a coma and is gifted with the power of super speed. Allen is a part of the Justice League and it is expected that Miller will have some sort of cameo in the upcoming pic “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” where that team is likely to be unveiled.”

Any thoughts?

New Stamp Sheet celebrates BATMAN’s 75th Anniversary

Facebooktwitterredditmail

In honor of Batman’s 75th Anniversary the U.S. Post Office is issuing a sheet of commemorative stamps showcasing some of The Dark Knight’s different looks through the years.

A column on the left side of the panel includes four different circular stamps. Each is affixed with a different Bat-Signal, the spotlight Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon sent into the night sky to summon Batman.

The background illustration features a silhouette of Batman standing on a bridge with the skyline of Gotham City looming above him. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamp pane.

WELCOME TO GOTHAM ACADEMY! Gotham City’s most prestigious prep school is a very weird place. It’s got a spooky campus, oddball teachers, and rich benefactors always dropping by…like that weirdo Bruce Wayne. But nothing is as strange is the students!

Like, what’s up with Olive Silverlock? Is she crazy or what? Where did she go last summer? And what’s the deal with her creepy mom? And how come that Freshman MAPS is always following her around? And is she still going out with Kyle? P.S. Did you hear the rumor about the ghost in the North Hall?!

GOTHAM ACADEMY is a new, monthly teen drama set in the shadow of Batman and the craziness of Gotham City, with new characters and old plus a secret tie to Gotham’s past…
