   Cloverfield and Pure Genius alum Odette Annable has joined the third-season cast of The CW’s Supergirl in the role of Reign. Warner Bros. Television confirms that “Reign will be the big bad of Season 3, as part of an exciting interpretation of the infamous World Killer storyline from the pages of the DC Comics.” Introduced in 2012, Reign is a Worldkiller and her origin is a mystery even to her. All she knows about herself is her name, that she is a Worldkiller, and that Krypton and Earth hold the answers for her questions about her origin.

Ashe’s character is described by the network as a Muslim-American woman from the year 2030 who lives in a world of contradictions: “Technology has brought about incredible change in her future — too bad human nature hasn’t kept pace. 1. The Arrow Easter Egg That Sealed One Character’s Fate (Date: 24 May 2017)
   Before Oliver (Stephen Amell) had his final showdown with Konstantin Kovar (Dolph Lundgren) in the flashbacks on tonight’s episode of Arrow, the show gave a look ahead at the Bratva boss’s destiny. Earlier in the episode, as Oliver, Slade, and Talia were exploring Lian Yu, the camera panned across the forest floor to reveal a set of skeletal remains wearing a black leather jacket. The body was that of Konstantin Kovar, who wouldn’t die at Oliver’s hand for about another 20 minutes in the episode.

2. Arrow’s John Barrowman Licks Katrina Law’s Donut (Date: 24 May 2017)
   Katrina Law, who returned to her role as Nyssa al Ghul in tonight’s episode, shared a video taken while on set. In it, Law talks to Nick E. Tarabay (Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang) about her love of donuts, seemingly unaware that John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) is behind her. Barrowman taps Law on the shoulder, sneaks up behind her, and licks her donut. And in traditional Arrow fashion, the video is accompanied by dramatic music and camera movements.

3. Arrow: John Barrowman Confirms He’s Done With The Arrowverse (Date: 25 May 2017)
   Here’s what Barrowman had to say about his exit: “I am very sad to be leaving the Arrowverse. I love playing Malcolm Merlyn, and you know – that’s it really. As sad as it may be, I understand how shows must change and also characters must change and develop. But that doesn’t mean I’m not very sad and upset about it. 1. The CW Boss On Plans For New 4-Series DC Crossover & Peak Superhero TV (Date: 18 May 2017)
   The now-traditional DC superhero crossover on the CW will be back next season with another big four-series event in the fourth quarter, more specifically November. Like the very successful four-night crossover last December, which delivered the CW’s most watched week in six years, the stunt will include the DC series on the fall schedule, Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

2. Supergirl Season 2 Blu-ray, DVD Information Released (Date: 24 May 2017)
   The CW and Warner Bros home entertainment have announced that Supergirl: The Complete Second Season will release on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 22, 2017. The set contains all 22 episodes of Supergirl’s second season, an exclusive commentary with Andrew Kreisberg and Kevin Smith, the show’s 2016 Comic-Con panel, featurettes, and more extras. 3. Supergirl: Cat Grant Won’t Be Series Regular in Season 3 (Date: 25 May 2017)
   While Flockhart was listed as a series regular by The CW in press release for Season Three, the actress won’t be a full-time cast member. Instead, she’s expected to appear as a guest star in a handful of episodes, “if the scheduling can be worked out.” Given the revelation that Cat has known Kara’s biggest secret for some time, fans will undoubtedly hope schedules do work out, as Kara could surely use some sage advice from her mentor as she faces more challenges.

2. Arrow: What is Lord Mesa Bakery? (Date: 17 May 2017)
   The cake ordered by Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) for the birthday party was decorated with art by Lord Mesa, an artist who regularly publishes DCTV-related fanart on Twitter. Lord Mesa gained popularity in Arrow’s early seasons for drawing chibi fanart inspired by noteworthy scenes, many of which were regularly reshared by the show’s cast and crew. In the years since, his work has grown to Arrow’s sister shows: The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. While this Easter egg has little bearing on the show as a whole, it’s a nice way to honor someone who has contributed a lot to the Arrow fandom.

3. Arrow, Riverdale Switch Nights on CW’s Fall Lineup (Date: 18 May 2017)
   The lineup, unveiled this morning ahead of the network’s upfront presentation in New York City, sees Riverdale slide from Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT into Arrow‘s time slot on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, serving as lead-in to the reimagining of the 1980s primetime soap opera Dynasty. The sixth season of Arrow will unfold Thursdays at 8 p.m., followed at 9 p.m. by the 13th season of Supernatural. The new DC Comics-inspired superhero drama Black Lightning will join returning series iZombie, The 100 and The Originals as part of The CW’s midseason lineup. Returning Arrowverse series Supergirl, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will remain in their current nights and times.

   Since his introduction as Wally West in season two of The Flash, Keiynan Lonsdale has made a pretty huge impact in The CW series, especially now that he’s suited up as Kid-Flash. Now, while you may initially ask yourself “Why does this matter?” it’s important to note that there are a lot of people all over the world who struggle to come to terms with things like this and look to their favourite LGBT actors and celebs for inspiration when it comes to talking to their friends and families.

2. Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Home Video Details Revealed (Date: 16 May 2017)
   While you buy the season digitally now on a variety of platforms, the home entertainment release will come with bonus features not currently available on iTunes, Vudu, etc., and the Blu-ray edition will come with an Ultraviolet copy as well. The disc releases will come on August 15, 2017. Per the official release, “Fans can zoom through 17 exhilarating episodes from the second season, plus exciting special features including the show’s 2016 Comic-Con Panel, crossover featurette, gag-reel and deleted scenes.”

3. The CW’s Black Lightning not part of Arrowverse, crossover unlikely (Date: 18 May 2017)
   CW chief Mark Pedowitz revealed to reporters on Thursday morning ahead of the network’s upfront presentation that Black Lightning does not take place in the Arrowverse — the same shared universe that the other four series call home. Couple that with the fact that Black Lightning films in Atlanta, while the rest of the shows film in Vancouver, and it’s basically a logistical nightmare. Black Lightning is also slated to debut in midseason, not in the fall. “We do not aim to do a five-way crossover,” Pedowitz said. “Black Lightning, at this time, is not part of the Arrowverse. It is a separate situation. But there will be a big fourth quarter crossover with all four of the shows that are on in the fall.”

2. Arrow EP Explains Why Prometheus Keeps Getting So Personal (Date: 10 May 2017)
   During an interview last week, Arrow showrunner Wendy Mericle explained why they felt it was time for a villain who challenged Oliver on a personal, human level for the first time since Deathstroke in season 2. “It’s very personal this year, and we wanted to do that for a number of reasons,” Mericle said. “WE’ve done a different villain this year. It’s not that it’s easy, but using violence — which Chase and Oliver still do throughout the season — is sort of the go-to. What’s been interesting to see this year is to see that but the underpinnings of it being so psychological and so manipulative and so built on the underpinnings of what Chase knows about Oliver and who he is. This was the perfect storm — a great way to change up the villain and to get inside of Oliver’s head in a season that we needed to. We needed him to be reflective and talking and looking back at his past, and Chase was the perfect spark to light that fire.”

   During a recent interview, showrunner Wendy Mericle told ComicBook.com that the man in the hood will still be spending his days at City Hall come 2016. Mericle said, “What’s going to be a central question for season 6 is how can he do both? We’ve played with that in the past in different ways before, but I think that the success of what he’s done in the mayor’s office and his ability to have impact is going to raise those stakes to a different level and hopefully create some great stories.”

   Black Siren is a badass villain. What can we expect? —You can expect… badass villainy. “She comes back as part of Chase’s plan,” says co-showrunner Wendy Mericle. ” Chase knows exactly what he’s doing, and he understands how unsettling seeing somebody that looks like Laurel Lance is going to be for the rest of the team,” her “dad” Quentin included. “And from a writing perspective, it’s just fun storytelling. Katie Cassidy does an amazing job as Black Siren, and seeing her take on Dinah, or her take on Lance, is going to be fun.”                                   This will be the first Arrow season finale that does not take place in Starling City. Can we expect the same kind of intense fights, or will this be more of an emotional showdown? —“Both,” answers Wendy Mericle. “One of the fun parts of having Prometheus and Oliver going toe-to-toe this season has been they’re both really great fighters, but by the same token, Prometheus is a tremendous psychological villain and he’s going to hit Oliver right where it hurts. That’s going to be a double whammy for him in the finale.”

1. Supergirl EP Teases General Zod’s Arrival, Comic-Inspired Appearance (Date: 06 May 2017)
   The “how” and “when” of General Zod’s arrival on Supergirl remains a mystery, but thanks to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, at least we know what the legendary DC Comics villain will be wearing. He says that Supergirl‘s Zod (played by Smallville actor Mark Gibbon) will be sporting “a little bit of that Nazi uniform look you’d see in the comics in the ’60s. Visually, he has a different look from the mechanical armor that Man of Steel did, or the real spacey clothes Richard Donner’s version had.

2. The Flash boss on how everyone will react to that Savitar reveal (Date: 08 May 2017)
   As revealed during last week’s episode of The Flash, Savitar is actually a future version of the Scarlet Speedster, a heavily scarred Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) hellbent on killing Iris (Candice Patton) for as-yet-unknown reasons. Suffice it to say, Team Flash will certainly be shocked by this turn of events during Tuesday’s episode. “What’s interesting about people’s reactions — we certainly wrote it, but just the way the cast performs it — is it’s one thing to have seen that giant metal suit and hear that there is a version of Barry inside of it,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “It’s quite another thing when you actually come face-to-face with what’s inside.” Plus, watch a trailer for the final episodes of season 3.
