More Batman related news! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox’s upcoming show Gotham has found its Bruce Wayne aka the future Batman and Selina Kyle aka the future Catwoman in actors David Mazouz and Cameren Bicondova. Mazouz has previously played on the the series Touch while Bicondova has starred in Girlhouse and Battlefield America. They are the last two regulars to be cast for the show.
Gotham is an origin tale centering on future Commissioner Jim Gordon (Southland‘s Ben McKenzie) as well as Batman’s rogue gallery. On the show, Bruce Wayne will be a pre-teen leading a solitary life under the watchful eye of his butler Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) after the tragic death of his parents Thomas and Martha Wayne. He’s described as “serious and soulful” and relies on Alfred and Gordon for guidance and protection. Meanwhile Selina Kyle is a teenage orphan who’s described as “suspicious and wholly unpredictable.” She’s also a street thief and skilled pickpocket who’s dangerous when cornered.
Aside from Ben McKenzie and Sean Pertwee, Mazouz and Bicondova join a cast which includes Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock (Sons of Anarchy); Robin Lord Taylor as the Penguin; Zabryna Guevara as Capt. Essen; Erin Richards as Gordon’s love interest; and Jada Pinkett Smith as the Penguin’s boss.
So there you have it! These are the folks cast for Gotham. Tell me your thoughts below.
I’ve been loving seeing Sean Pertwee as a regular on the last two episodes of CBS’ Elementary as Detective Inspector Lestrade. He’s a great actor even when he’s playing a bit of a jerk – can’t wait for Gotham.
