SP as he is known to his close associates has dedicated his life to working within the system to bring geeky humor and science fiction points of view to the mindless minions in charge of providing the freedoms, security and infrastructure to our lives. Given the opportunity, SP would gladly slip through the Stargate to begin colonizing a new planet and living the Little House On The Prairie life or suit up to mine the solar system's asteroids for precious metals, gems and hidden signs of ancient advanced societies. SP has a lifelong fascination with geeky shows, advanced technologies, revolutionary science and apocalyptic tales.

THE SECRET ORIGIN OF LAUREN: Lauren thought that she was just a normal girl until the day that someone informed her that only geeks read comics and watch Star Wars. And from that day forward, a geek she was. Now she spends most of her time reading comics, writing horror fiction, watching entirely too much TV, and knitting adorable lacy scarves while watching hideously depressing movies. Warning: talking with Lauren may result in an overly enthusiastic outburst known as the "fangirl flail" when discussing topics of interest. Topics of interest include Star Wars, X-men, Marvel, comics in general, A Song of Ice and Fire, genre fiction, genre TV shows, cute animals, animals that everyone else thinks are horrible, and Roman history.

Director SP and Executive Assistant To the Traveling Deputy Director Secretary Stephen discuss the ABC television series Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode “Stolen” and some listener feedback. The Agents debrief you on how rare it is for a showrunner to run a show for all 7 seasons, what was stolen in the episode, how 1983 S.H.I.E.L.D. might have known about Deke, how James Paxton did in portraying the same role as his father played, would Garret and Coulson have known each other already in 1983, will the ending of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. be to erase the show and Inhumans from the MCU, what the status of the time drive might mean, more predictions on Fitz, Dr. Eric Grady’s back story, how Nathaniel Malick is doing as the season’s “big bad,” the Dollhouse reunion scene, how Sousa continues to be this awesome Man Of Action, and how the Agents have had enough of the Lighthouse already. Stay tuned after the credits for more than 3 minutes of bonus audio for you to enjoy!

Shield 710 feedback

I’m so stressed out.

You can’t really go wrong with a well-prepared villain, and wow, is Nathaniel Malick prepared.  He just oozes dislikability (is that a word?) and you can’t wait for him to get his comeuppance.  Just the little taste of him momentarily being hurt by Jiaying was satisfying, and then watching him kill her for it was brutal.  And with James Paxton doing a pretty decent impression of his late dad (and having so much fun doing it), we’re left with two incredibly unlikable guys getting the best of our team in nearly every way.  And that’s honestly where I want to be two weeks before the 2 part finale.  I’ll take my sunshine and rainbows later on; give me the despair now.

The rest of the episode impressed me, considering the masterpiece that it had to follow.  Daisy’s first talk with Jiaying gave me goosebumps knowing what was in their future.  And hearing that future retold through the voice of an a-hole later on wasn’t just exposition to me; it was a twist of that knife.  Guys, I’m really excited to hopefully watch this guy die.

That’ll be all for me this week, I’ll just be sitting here wondering why Coulson could instantly remember random bits of history from Shield Academy but not what John Garrett looked like when they were SHIELD recruits.  I’m pretty sure they were both trained together by Nick Fury.  It’ll take a little bit of time  to headcanon my way around that.

Until next time!
