The best thing I saw last week was Wet and Reckless. Brought to us by Writer, Director, and Star Jason Trost, know in many circles as simply JTRO. Thanks to the awesomeness that is Matt Cohen’s Bagged and Boarded podcast I learned of the phenom that is JTRO and have seen most of his catalog of work over the past couple of months. The FP might be the funniest movie in the past 5 years and Vs. (a.k.a. All Superheroes Must Die) is the best low budget superhero flick I’ve ever seen. Go check out this guys work and thank me later. Today though, I am here to talk about Wet and Reckless.
I actually laughed out loud at this film, no bull shit, and no exaggeration. Wet and Reckless is damn funny. Jason Trost and his amazing crew take a few dollars and a camera and give you one of the greatest satirical looks at the shit storm that is Reality TV that I could possibly imagine.
This film introduces us to Lobo, played by Jason Trost and Toby ‘Dollars” played by Lucas Till who quite a few of you will probably recognize as Havok from X-Men: First Class as they go nuts on their reality show and things start going from bad to worse. They are joined by the talented Scout Taylor-Compton who is probably best known as Laurie Strode in the new Rob Zombie Halloween films. This talented trio takes the audience on a ridiculous adventure that will have you laughing and questioning how it is that society hasn’t gotten its shit together and banned Reality TV all together. From start to finish it is preposterous scene after preposterous scene filled with some of the douchiest lingo ever committed to film this side of The Jersey Shore. As long as you get the joke, just like The FP, you will have yourself one hell of a good time.
Right now as Jason Trost announced on Twitter yesterday he has made Wet and Reckless available to watch for free on Vimeo until January 1st so don’t sleep on it, go watch this epic now! I will post a link below. After you are down watching Wet and Reckless go check the rest of Trost’s work. I’m not sure there is someone in Hollywood right now doing more with less than Jason Trost. And I’ve got to say I am damn sure enjoying watching him do it. The man is an unstoppable force and luckily for all of us he’s taking us along for the ride.
Take me to see Wet and Reckless Now!
Hope you all had a wonderful 2013 and that your 2014 is even better. See you all next year.
