Welcome to our Agent of Shield night . Tonight on ABC we have a huge episode of Marvel’s creation. Our show tonight deals with the cleanup in the aftermath of Thor: the Dark World.
The episode starts with our team sifting through the debris left at the college and Greenwich they’re looking for any item left from the attack that may be of alien or Asgard origins. Skyy is following Coulson around with a bin trying to figure out when originally the Asgardians came to earth. Meanwhile, a couple is hiking through National Forest in Norway looking for a piece of the berserker staff. The park rangers come across a sign with graffiti on it and then the distance they hear the couple cutting down one of the trees. Inside the great pine tree, they find one of three pieces of the staff. The staff harnesses the rage that is inside everyone to cause violencej. The followers appear to be members of a radical pagan group, that believe in and worship the Norse gods. Through text in manuscript they have determined the location of the pieces of the berserker staff. Coulson makes contact with a historian, that he had to seek help from when Thor had originally came to earth. He tell of the mystery of the staff. Taking the myth into account and seaching the globe they are able to reach the second piece as the historian is taking it from the hiding spot in south Spain. During the tussle for the staff Agent Wards grabs the staff imbuing his body with the rage. This brings flashbacks of when his brother died in the well. On board our aircraft, Coulson questions the historian, discover based on the lack of response, that the historian is the original owner of the staff. Coulson is able to convince him to give up the location of the final piece, so that it does not fall into the hands of the renegades. However when they arrive at the church in Ireland, the other group has already procured the final piece. Agent ward has to face his demons and use the staff to defeat the enemy. When the female who originally found the staff join the fight, Agent May picked up the staff and is able to fight without recourse. After the battle our historian decides it’s time to move on, and start again. Agent Coulson, suggests Portland, because of food and rich history.
What did you guys think? I’m torn on this episode actually, part of me love that cause I love the Asgard mythos, but the other part felt like they tried to put too much in one episode. I was glad that the professor was the warrior. However I am glad to see more of our teams background and find what makes them tik.
