Happy Monday if there is such a thing. I hope everyone had a great columbus day. Tonight was a wonderful night for Sleepy Hollow till the end when they tell me it will be November 4th before we get another episode. Boo. Over on Beauty and the Beast, Vincent’s Next target is Cat.
Sleepy Hollow: Joe Doe
A young girl is collecting leaves in the forest and playfully get a boy from the village to chase her, He then begins to be pursued by one of the horseman. A the past fades into the future, the old boy stumbles out of the forest as an RV passes. A boy is found in the middle of town with mud on his feet. As Ichabod and Abbie arrive they are taking him to the hospital with black veins across his body. As they are taking him away He speaks to Ichabod using Middle English, a dead language from the middle ages in England, calling the girl he was following an evil girl. Once in the hospital, the CDC quarantines the child so ichabod has to use a camera to talk to the child. He finds out his name is Thomas, and he is from Roanoke. Based on the cloths and the language that Thomas speak Ichabod tells Abbie that he believes that Thomas and his village are the lost village of Roanoke Island, North Carolina. (Squeek!!l This was one of my favorite mysteries as a child.) Feeling that they are at a dead end with Thomas in the hospital, they take to checking the woods where the community says Thomas came out of. Here our jack of all tradesman shows Abbie that his is a very adept at tracking since he Fox hunted with his upscale family. They track him to a small island, where the water seems too deep to cross. However according to Ichabod there are marking on the tree noting that there is a hidden path through the water. ( Did you see any markings, I know I didn’t) It is across this hidden pathway that the village of Roanoke had resettled. Thomas’s father tells them that they all have the plague, but it is here their youngest protected them. The spirit of the first child born in america Ms Day, lead them here after she passed. ( I personally wouldn’t follow a ghost but hey who am I to question). They are told that if Thomas dies in the real world then the plague will begin anew and it will summon the Horseman of Pestanace to sleepy hollow allowing him to join with the horseman of war. Ichabod and Abbie feel that if they can get Thomas back to the village they would be able to save the individuals affected with the plague. Upon going to the hospital to retrieve Thomas Ichabod becomes sick with the plague and the put him down with a tranquilliser. It is here in a dreamlike state halfway between life and death that Ichabod see’s his beloved. She tells if that if he is there then he is dieing and he must fight to save himself and save her. She tells him that she is trapped in a purgatory that is controlled by the demon Murloc. Eluding her commander from reassigning her to evacuate the city Abbie finds herself hiding in the church of the hospital. As she sits down she asks whomever is listening to give her a sign. She is willing to believe she just needs to be shown a way to save Thomas and more importantly Ichabod. Feeling slighted, she gets up to go, where she sees a woman dip her hands in the holy water. She gets a memory of Ichabod and her in the village and realized it the spring water that must heal the village. She seeks out Capt. Irving and he suggests she can get Ichabod and Thomas out of the facility to save them by using a faked transport. She takes over the ambulance and takes them to the woods where she and Ichabod stumble through the woods carrying Thomas. Once they enter in the village Ichabod jumps into the water holding Thomas submerging both under the water. The world flashes and the village disappears leaving only the well now dry. They watch the villagers walking away and realize that the villagers were dead the whole time.
So all I can say is wow. This was probably the best episode so far. I was so glad at the end that Abbie finally let Ichabod know that at least as friends she is glad he is there with her. The next episode looks even better cept they are threatening to kill off Ichabod. I know its not going to be happen unless they want to kill the show, but when it comes back in three weeks I will be sitting on the edge of my seat. Heres our first look at out next episode.

Beauty and the Beast: Kidnapped
Vincent’s feelings for Cat start to come back, as she learns how much of a monster he could be. While attempting to learn more about Vincent’s mission, Cat gets kidnapped by Vincent. Their growing chemistry complicates his mission. Meanwhile, Tess , J.T. and Gabe come together to help Cat. Okay this was kinda depressing, The entire first half of the episode seemed kinda pointless when the second half played out. Did we even really need any of it? The best part of this episode was Jay’s performance of Vince. To basically take one character and change every detail about his personality has to be hard. There was one heartfelt moment in this episode that did resonate with me that was when JT said to Tess, that “at least you friend remembers you” I am sure JT is totally missing Vincent.
Tonight for our popcorn we are having a popcorn a different way. We are going to make bark which is a common treat around the holidays.
