So I am going to change it up a just a little bit versus last week. A few comments said i needed to do a little more with the popcorn so after the review I am going to put a popcorn recipe that goes along with the theme of one or more of the shows.
Sleepy Hollow 01×02: Blood Moon
We start the episode with a vision of the four horsemen chasing Ichabod, his wife Katrina saves him by pulling him underground where she warns him that an army of demons will be unleashed during the blood moon, starting with a witch. The officer Andy Dunn that was killed at the end of episode one by the demon in the cell comes back to life and pulls a witches talisman from his mouth. He is instructed by the demon that he is to release the first demon during the blood moon. We join Ichabod and Abbie as they search for clues to where the witch is going to strike next. Through a memory iccabad tells Abbie that the witch cursed the town as she was burned at the stake that by the flesh of the descendants that she would walk again. She gathers the ashes of the only two descendants that remain of the man who condemned her to death, and added them to her bones to come back alive. Ichabod proceeds to burn her alive with gunpowder that had been stored in the tunnels where the witches bones were buried. At the end we get a pep talk from the ghost of Sheriff Corbin, telling Abbie that she needs to embrace who she is. He tells her that she needs to face what’s in number 49. We get a glimpse of what is going on with the sister in Room 49 of the psychiatric ward.
For me I felt like this episode was better than the first because we are more concentrated on the future. It also had just enough of Ichabod getting adjusted to the current times. There is a quick scene at the beginning where Abbie has covered the hotel room with post-it notes telling him how to use things. Also, as seen in one of the previews, Abbie forgets to tell him there are multiple shots to a gun. I like the little bits of info we’re getting feed along the way like the the reason that Katrina’s bones are not in her grave, i think that is foreshadowing to a larger picture, or thats my hope at least.
My favorite scene this time though was in the previews. “What’s an outrage is a 10% taxation on baked goods! Why are the people not taking to the streets??”
Since we just started fall on sunday and two of the best things about fall is tv premieres and football here is a yummy football inspired treat that is great for cuddling up and watching tv or for tailgating.
