The internet went crazy last weekend with the news that Gail Simone had been removed from her position as the writer for the Batgirl series. There was an enormous outpouring of fan support across the web once this news came to light. Fans were left wondering who would be taking over the book after Batgirl #16.
Well, we might have gotten some news on that courtesy of Gail Simone herself. She took to Twitter with some news that should excite the fans.

You read that right, Gail Simone is back on as writer for Batgirl. Popular opinion is that DC might have backtracked on this decision in part due to the fan outrage that flooded across social media. It was pretty clear the vast majority of fans did not side with DC in this decision to change up the writing staff.
Congratulations to Ms. Simone for returning to Gotham City with the Batgirl books. And Kudos to DC Comics for listening to the fan opinions and reversing course on the decision to change up the writing team on Batgirl.
