In the Better Podcasting Download, we look at two reddit articles – one about interrupting, and the other about apologizing to your audience.

In this week’s Better Podback, we run down some Discord feedback, including someone who wasn’t satisfied with the Shure SM58. Finally, we wrap it up with a heartwarming story from Stephen – as he gets a little real about his recent podcast endeavors.

This week, we discuss some of these decisions, and Stargate Pioneer provides actual examples of decisions that he is making for two of the shows that he currently participates in.

In this week’s Better Podcasting Download, we discuss recent Patreon changes, and what it means for the hobby podcaster.

Better Podcasting #171 – Podcasting Ethics

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditlinkedinmail

Many industries have a code of ethics established for their industry, but Podcasting doesn’t have anything formally established. In this episode we discuss some things that we’ve seen over the years (and some things that we’ve had conversations with other podcasters) that might be a consideration when discussing Podcasting Ethics. Our segment isn’t intended to suggest podcasting ethics (that’s well beyond our control), but just to highlight some of the things that we’ve seen happening in podcasting that we feel you should be aware of, and how it can impact you as a podcaster.

In this week’s Better Podcasting Download, we follow-up to last week’s discussion about Apple and title tags as Apple sent out two more emails after we recorded the previous email. To be clear – in Apple’s 2nd and 3rd emails, they have changed their position and clearly stated “Your Show Won’t Be Removed for Having Episode Numbers in Episode Titles”(woo hoo!) We also discuss Stephen’s interaction with the Rodecaster Pro 1.10 Firmware update and how it’s not a multi-track recorder.

Finally, in the Better Podback we discuss our Discord channel’s reaction to the Rodecaster Pro not delivering multi-track recording. Find full episode information including links referenced in this episode at http://www.betterpodcasting.com/171/

Better Podcasting #170 – Recording With Co-Hosts In The Same Room

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditlinkedinmail

We’ve often spoken about how to podcast with co-hosts remotely, but what about the situations where you’re going to record in the same room together? Things can actually be a lot different (and more complex in some ways) when you’re recording multiple people in the same room together. In this episode we’ll discuss some best practices and share some of our experiences when recording with other people in the same room.

In this week’s Better Podcasting Download, we discuss the hot-off-the-presses email from Apple about the use of podcast Title Tags, and what their expectation is for these. This leads in to our take on Apple and its power within the industry. NOTE: This was recorded a few hours after Apple sent their first email and there were two emails sent after this recording. While it doesn’t change our position on the majority of the discussion, it MAY SLIGHTLY change the course of action you take on your individual show.

Finally, in the Better Podback we discuss our Discord channel’s reaction to the Apple news. Find full episode information including links referenced in this episode at http://www.betterpodcasting.com/170/

Better Podcasting #169 – Non-Weekly Podcasting

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditlinkedinmail

Although there are many podcasts which release on a weekly basis, there are many podcasts that use a non-weekly release format. In this episode we’ll discuss some release schedules, benefits to these, and some best practices if you’re going to go non-weekly. We’ll also cover seasonal podcasting.

In this week’s Better Podcasting Download, Stephen shares the reason why he hasn’t continued on with his Rodecaster Pro review videos – including sharing a couple sample audio clips. If you’re considering buying the Rodecaster Pro, you may want to hear this before making your decision.
