A few hours later it was made official and confirmed by Variety & Hollywood Reporter. The 13-episode action drama is just one of four Marvel series set to air on Netflix next year. Filming will begin this summer. Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
The other three will be Jessica Jones, Iron Fist & Luke Cage. In addition to their own shows, these characters will come together in the Netflix miniseries event The Defenders.
This news comes after news broke over Memorial Day weekend that Drew Goddard had left Daredevil and Steven S. DeKnight was stepping up as showrunner and executive producer. Goddard’s departure was a much more amicable one verses director’s Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man departure.
I’m not familiar with Cox’s work, but my fingers are crossed that he’ll do a great job. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
