ITS TUESDAY!!!. This is becoming my favorite night of television with The CW’s Originals, Marvel’s Shield and ABC, Wolfsblood on Disney, CW’s Supernatural and my little non fantasy favorite Son’s of Anarchy and The Goldbergs . For review purposes I’m going to stick to Just Marvel and The originals, but if you want a few others to wet your appetite definitely check into the others. A bit of warning with Wolfsblood, it is a preteen drama, so it doesn’t get too serious or extreme but it is a good intro to the world of supernatural for our younger audience and for you to watch with your children.
The Originals: “Tangled Up in Blue”
So we start our evening with the Originals, and war is coming to New Orleans. Klaus is setting a plan in motion to find Davina and at the same time get closer to Marsel. One thing I love about Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, is the levels of his plans, We are initially told by Klaus that he has two plans, the first is just to ask Marcel for Elijah back, the second is to have the witches do a located spell. He knows the first will fail, but he tries in good faith anyways. The second is while Marcel is hosting a charity party, they set up his right hand man Thierry to take the fall. This vampire is in love with a witch, and Klaus is going to use that to his advantage. He compels the new vampire to attack the witch forcing Thierry to fight back and kill the vampire. This breaks Marcils biggest rule, not to take another vampire’s life. they sentence him to a 100 years in the garden. Garden? we actually get to see that at the end and I hope Klaus does something about that. The garden is a place where they bury vampires alive in concrete so they desiccate. But they leave parts of them exposed making the bodies the flowers of the garden. It appears to be a tunnel under ground, maybe even under the quarter. As they are taking him to the garden Marcel is interrupted by the witch, She begins breaking his bones with magic alla Bonnie Bennett. When she has got close enough to Marcel she raise a stake to end Marcel forever. At the last moment dramatically Klaus saves Marcel setting him up to be in Marcels best of sides, by snapping the witches neck. While this is going on Rebekkah has convinced Sophie to do a locator spell under the smoke screen of the a planned attack on Marcel by the Mikelsons. As the spell is weaving its way through the map to pinpoint the location of Elijah the magic stops, because the witch was just killed. Once the traitor was buried Klaus joins Marcel on the balcony for a drink to discuss the day. One Line Marcel uses when describing Thierry “ I’ve made him what he was, I guess my trust was misplaced.” I was throwing popcorn at the screen because that is truefuly how Klaus probably feels.
I am so in love with this series is is fang dripping in blood and reveling in the fact that they are these supernatural creatures. I hope they bring Elijah back, i like the charismatic older brother that just wants to make their family whole.
S.H.I.E.L.D: “eye spy”
“This episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. an ex-agent whom Coulson trained several years ago. Because of this, Agent Coulson is understandably invested in learning what happened to Agent Akela Amador (Pascale Armand) and figuring out how to bring her in without incident. This episode give us insight into the character of Coulson, it also gives us more details into the mystery of what happened to him after “The Avengers.” At the end of last episode Agent May told Coulson that she wanted in on the action, and boy did we get it with this episode. Unlike Coulson, May is determined to take Amador out, especially when she puts the rest of the team in danger. This Episode we also get the team, FINALLY, Skye finds her place currently in the team. I loved huffington post description of the vastness of the Marvel Universe that we will get to see in this episode and more; “The show has been hinting at the scope of the Marvel universe since the first episode, already exploring “Iron Man’s” Extremis, the existence of H.Y.D.R.A. technology and the creation of the villain Graviton. “Eye Spy” continues that trend, teasing a much larger and more nefarious threat than the team realizes at the outset. The episode also doubles down on the amazing technology we’ve been seeing, adding more depth to the heightened world our heroes inhabit and setting up plenty more mysteries to be explored as the season progresses.”
SO this was exactly what the folks have been waiting for Joss Whedon, Marvel universe, TV show. This is going to hopefully be a long term show for us. I want to see more super beings, both common knowledge one like Thor and IronMan, and ones that they create for the show specifically.
Tonight I wanted something with a kick with our popcorn, Normally the recipe tells you how to make it stove top but I’ll admit tonight I cheated and used natural Orville Redenbacher single server bag, and my parmesan cheese came from the jar.
Peppery Garlic Parmesan Popcorn
1/2 cup popcorn kernels (14 – 16 cups popped popcorn)
2 tablespoons olive oil
granulated garlic or garlic powder
kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
fresh Parmesan or Pecorino Romano cheese, grated fine with a microplane
Drizzle the popcorn with olive oil and toss with hands, large spoon or tongs to thoroughly coat. Sprinkle generously with dried spices and toss to coat. Grate plenty of cheese over the top and toss again. Enjoy!
