It’s Pride Month and Legends Podcast is celebrating all colors of the cinematic rainbow with four films featuring LGBTQIA+ stories. Next up is Barry Jenkin’s 2016 look at black and queer masculinity throughout three phases of a young man’s life. The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, with Mahershalla Ali making history as the first Muslim to win an Oscar (for Best Supporting Actor), but it almost missed its moment to celebrate its Best Picture Award after La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner.
