The LUCAS FILMS website has revealed the cast of STAR WARS episode VII, just it time to give fans something to celebrate on next week’s STAR WARS DAY, MAY 4th!
Confirming the rumors that the original cast will be returning, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker will be reprising their roles as Han, Leia, Luke, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and R2-D2, respectively.
New to the franchise are John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow in unnamed roles, though it was leaked that Adam Driver will be a villain, and one would imagine so is Max von Sydow (He has a certain Sith-like quality, doesn’t he?)
Also returning is composer John Williams.
The release quotes director J.J. Abrams as saying:
“We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
