Diamond has announced that they will be distributing the line from Mike Kennedy (Archaia) and Wes Harris (Boom! Studios) new publishing house MAGNETIC PRESS. Below is the official release.
(BALTIMORE, Maryland) — (March 19, 2014) —Graphic novel publisher Magnetic Press has signed a supply agreement with Diamond Comic Distributors to distribute their line of products worldwide to comic book specialty stores, book stores, mass-market merchandisers, libraries and other outlets excluding Amazon US and Amazon Canada.
Magnetic Press is an up and coming publisher created by former Archaia Entertainment publisher Mike Kennedy, and former VP of Publishing for Boom! Studios Wes Harris. The publisher’s first two original graphic novels Super Ego and Naja, are showcased in the March issue of Diamond’s PREVIEWS catalog.
Super Ego dives into the psychological view of what being a super hero is like and the toll it can take on superhumans. Written and illustrated by the talented Caio Oliveira, Super Ego gives us a look from psychiatrist Dr. Ego’s point of view, who specializes in the world of superhuman struggles. It definitely asks the question, “how does that make you feel?”
Naja, which is an international sensation, is now available in English and offered in the US market for the first time through PREVIEWS. Naja tells the story of a killer who feels no remorse about her distasteful job as an assassin, but becomes the next target on another killer’s list, making her leave her life and fall off the grid completely. From French authors Bengal and JD Morvan, the 248-page hard- cover graphic novel is a beautifully illustrated story resembling both manga and European art forms with lavish design and detail.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Diamond again — our experience with their sales team during our previous positions within other publishing companies was always energetic,” said Magnetic Press Publisher Mike Kennedy. “They not only understand the market and audience, but genuinely appreciate and become fans of the content itself. There wasn’t a moment’s hesitation to partner with them again when forming Magnetic Press.”
“We are excited to start a relationship with Magnetic Press and are thrilled they are working with us to expand their business using Diamond’s many resources,” said Diamond’s Vice President of Purchasing, John Wurzer.
