Peter Parker to return as Spider-Man, but as The Joker’s Son?

Ok, so any comic book fan knows that the title was bait – but I had to give a nod to fellow staff member John D (Nightwing)’s description after seeing this preview image.

That’s right, Spider-Man fans who have been itching to get Peter Parker back in the title won’t have to wait much longer as it appears Marvel will be ending the Superior Spider-Man Run and replacing with The Amazing Spider-Man – starting back at issue 1.

While I’m not surprised to hear this announcement, personally I’ve thought that the current run of Spider-Man has been a lot more enjoyable than the usual campy Peter Parker that we’re used to. I was hoping that when the Superior Spider-Man run ended that the title would be left with a more modern version of the character; judging from this image it looks like he’ll be back to his old self.

Seriously though, why does he have the look of 3 year old going down a slide for the first time?

He has that look because when Humberto Ramos draws Parker he puts glee on his face. Ramos just always seems to nail the happy part of Peter’s world even when it’s getting dark. It’s ingrained in his cartooning. I dig it.
