Joss Whedon took the stage at Hall H of Comic Con to announce some news today about the Avengers 2.  Before speaking a brief promos was shown to the assembled crowd.

The footage featured animated close-ups of metal being pounded into shape as we hear clips of dialogue from The Avengers. But as the metal object revolves and the camera pulls back the head of Ultron is revealed.

Smash cut to title: The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

That’s right kids, it looks like The Avengers 2 will feature Ultron.  No one knows for sure whether this will be a direct adaptation of the recent comic series.  But at the very least it will be interesting to see how Marvel includes Ultron without having already established Dr. Hank Pym, Ultron’s creator.

At this point this is all that’s known but keep your eyes open for more details.  All I know is that with Whedon helming this project I have faith that The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be a fun ride.
