If you’ve been watching The Walking Dead this season you’re bound to be aware that everything has been leading up to tonight’s episode. Tonight Rick and the prison crew will be forced to confront the Governor and his Woodbury crew. Fans have to realize that this confrontation will not end well. This is a fact that even the cast of the show have been talking about.
Andrew Lincoln was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone and told the magazine about the body count that will be racked up in the finale. According to Lincoln:
“Twenty-seven people die. It’s safe to say it is all hands to pumps. It’s a crazy season finale.”
Twenty-seven people? That’s a huge number of deaths for one episode. Now, it stands to reason that this will not be all of our main characters. I’m sure this counts a large number of the residents in Woodbury. That being said I doubt all of the main characters are safe. But I have some suspicions for a couple characters that are near bullet proof and a couple that I think have the best chance of being taken out.
Let’s start with the safe list:
- Rick – At this point its very hard to kill off the main character of a show. In fact Robert Kirkman has yet to kill Rick off in the comics. With so much of the story centering around Rick I think its safe to say he will be back for season 4.
- Andrea – I think it would just be too obvious to kill Andrea off here. She’s trapped in an incredibly perilous situation but I believe she will get out safe. My personal opinion is that Tyrese and his crew will rescue her.
Now here’s my thoughts on the most likely to die:
- Hershel – In the zombie apocalypse you have to be able to run away from danger. That’s probably going to be difficult for the one-legged man on crutches. Somehow I think Hershel realizes that once he leaves the prison his days are numbered. Last week’s episode seemed to focus on Hershel having one last moment with his daughters. This week I think Hershel sacrifices himself to save a member of the group, perhaps Glen or Rick, and goes out a hero.
- Carl – Now here me out before you jump all over me. In the comics Carl has survived just about everything. In fact he was shot in the head and lost an eye and is still out there fighting walkers. The main reason I think this will be the end for Carl is because of a precedent set in Lost. One of the characters in lost was a kid and started growing up too fast so he was cut out of the show. We might see something here with Carl even though Chandler Riggs is awesome in the role.
Those are my basic predictions for the finale. All of that being said the writers love to do swerves all the time and trick viewers. So, I wouldn’t be shocked if all of my predictions were wrong when its all said in done. But how about you all, what do you think will happen in the finale, and who will fall?
Holy fuckballs! I can’t believe what the Governor did. I don’t read the comic, so is that close to what happens in the comic?
No in the comics the governor is much more sadistic though… just not as much to his people.
