Get ready Midgardians! On March 11th on Jameie Alexander will reprise her role of Sif (Thor and Thor: The Dark World) on the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. epsidoe “Yes Men.” Her appearance will also be just in time for the DVD release of Thor: The Dark World. You can take a look at the image from TV Guide below:
According to TV Guide, Sif will save Agent Coulson’s team from the Asgardian villain Lorelei who is the Enchantress’s younger sister and was created by Walter Simonson’s and made her first appearance in Thor vol. 1 #337.
In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Jed Whedon stated,
“We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection. Lady Sif comes here on a hunting mission — sent by Odin — to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard. It throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight right alongside this powerful woman from Thor’s world.”
Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added,
“Jaimie walked onto the set in full Lady Sif regalia just as she looks in the movies — from the huge, mile-high boots to the metal armor — and she towered over everyone. It was so striking and impressive, all we could do was stare. It was very cool!”
But I say thee nay! Sif won’t be the only Asgardian making an appearance on TV. The all-seeing and all-hearing guardian sentry of Asgard who stands guard on the rainbow bridge Bifrost, Heimdall will appear on the Feburary 23rd episode of Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H. which airs on Disney XD. Heimdall won’t be voiced by Idris Elba sadly but Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh will do the honors.
Regarding Bosh’s voicing Heimdall, Marvel animation V.P. Stephen Wacker said, “We were thrilled that Chris agreed to lend his voice to one of the biggest and bravest warriors of Asgard. We hope fans will enjoy this fun episode as Chris brings the heat to Team Green.”
The episode finds “Heimdall and Thor battling the mighty Hulks until the fate of the nine realms forces them to set aside their differences and join forces again über-villain Malekith and his wicked elves. ”
