Review:
It’s always great to review indie comics and this one was fun to read especially since the comic contained two stories. Both stories contained action and were both fun to read. The first story was more in depth since it it was the main story as opposed to the second which was short and to the point. Let’s take a look shall we?
In the first story the Imperials, during a session of parliment an extremely hostile and evil team of bad guys takes over and takes hostages with threats of blowing the hostages apart if their demands aren’t met. Needless to say the call for help goes out and the alarm is sounded and the members of the British government’s heroic team the Imperials show up to do battle against the forces of evil for Queen and Country! The story was well paced and the plot was scripted very well. The second story titled ‘The Night Shift An Avalon Adventure’ features one of the members of the Imperials, Avalon. In this short but well scripted story, Avalon intervenes on the behalf of a lone policeman on patrol who needs backup. Though the story was short, the script was well paced.
The art in both stories was really good. Though each story was in black and white, each had a unique art style. Aside from some of the awkward poses, the art in the first story was great. The artwork isn’t was you would typically find in a superhero comic but that’s why I liked it, it’s unique. The second story’s art is more minimal in the way it’s drawn. Though its not as detailed, it still sets the mood and tone of the story. I love the shading in every panel and the art style almost has a manga influence to it.
Overall the twenty-three page comic was a great read and a great start to the Imperials story line. Readers will definitely enjoy the action packed stories and great artwork.
