Happy Monday folks hope you all enjoy the other great start to the week. I’m a little disappointed that blacklist was not on tonight but it should be returning at its regular schedule next week. However our new show almost human, more than made up for it. As our title mentions we are dealing with the afterlife and what happens when you die. In tonight’s episode of Almost Human John has to explain to Dorian what to tell a person that has lost their love one. And in Sleepy Hollow we learn why Katrina is trapped in purgatory. So let’s get started with another great Monday of entertainment.

Almost human: Skin

We start tonight episode with Dorian and John investigating the murder of a businessman that creates synthetic prostitutes. These sex dolls are program to respond to their customers emotions and physical responses to their advances. months ago. The doll that was in the room everything she touched, left the missing girls DNA. Now I’m a courting to the show synthetics can not possess. human DNA.  As they set out to find the inventors killer, young mother is abducted leaving her child in the car. John, who lacks the ability to truly communicate with a child, is forced to bond with the child to get evidence of the crime.  Using Dorian’s ability to connect the dots of a crime they begin their investigation into the inventors partner who also was suing the inventor. Through the chips inside of one of the dolls they’re able to locate where the bodies of the abducted  females are being harvested. John and Dorian are able to reach the mother in time before her skin is harvested for a doll.

So this was a really great episode.  I have to admit I think I’m addicted. There was one part in which I did cry and this episode. And that was where John was trying to explain to Dorian why people believe they will see them again after a person dies. Dorian appear afraid that he, if ever turned off or killed, would be forgotten. John reassures him that since he is a cop he would never be forgotten. In the end, the doll that led the team to the skin donation room, had to be deactivated because she had DNA. Dorian request it to be with her so that she did not die alone. I can’t wait to see what else the team gets into. I hope some of the shows are not as touching of a subject as this one.

Sleepy Hollow: Necromancer

Tonight in Sleepy Hollow Icabod Abbey Frank and Jenny are confronting the Headless Horseman to see the story of the horsemen and how he came to be. Because he is headless, they will have to use a medium, to communicate with him. Andy, the police officer that’s head got stretched, will be employed as a speaker for the horsemen. Andy warns Abbie and  Ichabod that he cannot be trusted because he must follow the orders Moloch give him since he owns Andy’s soul. Andy also warns them about the darkness one faces when they confront death.

Meanwhile the captain has brought Jenny to the station to give her the good news about the capture of the horsemen. They are however interrupted with word of a situation at the local antique shop. Jenny is familar with the shop, since she once procured items for him to sell. At the antique shop none of the valuable items are missing, but jenny shows frank that the shop owner had a secret room where he kept his best items. They find the owner inside, shot but alive. He directs them to a box that has been pillaged that once contained druidic item that could be used to break the hex on the cell that holds the horsemen.

The team heads back to the Masons house, we’re through badgering Ichabod taunts the horseman to talk. As Ichabod interrogate the horsemen a necklace falls from his scarf, one that once belongs to Katrina. This send us into a flashback where the necklace is given to Katrina by her once fiance Abraham Van Burnt. Also was a friend and confidante of Ichabod.   Outside Jenny and Frank are able to stop the Hessians, not before a bomb kills the power to the cell. When the Horseman’s breaks free, Ichabod realizes who he is fighting. Abraham. He has made a deal with the Hessians to get the one thing he desired most Katrina.  He realizes that his beloved Katrina is being held as a gift for Abraham to have when the horsemen ride and the apocalypse begins. From incision and his side Andy pulls the missing talisman. As he recites the incantation the minions run in right as the horsemen gets the better of Ichabod. ” Stop! You cannot kill him, the master forbids it” Andy turns to Ichabod, ” tell Abby I’m sorry” as the minions carry him and the horseman away.

So another great showing up by Sleepy Hollow. This is one of the best shows of the year and it’s getting better and better each time. I am glad that Andy is getting a semi redemption and I hope by the end of the seven years he will be able to find peace. I feel that Abraham is the first of many of Ichabod so called friends actually being on the bad side. The saying goes keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I  don’t trust Katrina, I think she’s the puppet master. We will have to wait and see though with only 3 more episodes before winter break and the mid season ending things are bound to come to a head.

For tomorrow , we have a brand new episode shield, and Ravenswood. However we are without a new episode of the originals. Instead lady gaga will be performing during their time slot. As for our popcorn tonight we are going to go with an apricot cherry popcorn squares. The squares are great alternative for buying expensive ready to eat bars so have a great Monday and a wonderful Tuesday work day.

Apricot Cherry Popcorn Squares

Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

10 cups air-popped popcorn
3/4 cup dried cherries
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. water
1/2 cup sugar-free apricot preserves
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions

1. Combine popcorn and cherries in large bowl.
2. Combine sugar, water, preserves, corn syrup, and lemon juice in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
3. Cook until mixture forms thick, “ropy” threads that drip from the spoon.
4. Pour slowly over popped popcorn and mix thoroughly.
5. Spray 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
6. Press mixture into baking dish and cool completely before serving.
