Popcorn and Primetime : S.H.I.E.L.D. : “0–8–4”
Happy tuesday everyone!!. I hope you got to tune in tonight for another great episode of Marvel: Agents of Shield I’ve got my bowl of Canchita, and after battling with the dvr for 5 mins and still not getting Dad’s to record we settled into Episode two. I am really stoked for this episode the promo states: “Don’t risk the spoilers, stay to the very end.” Then the promo quickly shows the eagle in the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo wearing an eye-patch – which has fans wondering if it is indeed Samuel Jackson who will be making a cameo appearance.
We join Coulson’s team as they are retrieving the 0-8-4 anomaly from a cave in Peru. Here Coulson is working with an old “friend” Comandante Camila Reyes to keep the rebels away while Fitz and Simons retrieve the device. The rebels show up at the caves and begin shooting causing a car chase to the aircraft, during the extractions the team begins to fall apart it seems. The group begins to bicker amongst each other. Once on the plane the comandante reveals that she was using them to get the 0-8-4, and she has taken over the plane. Its up to the agents to learn to work together to get out of the mess by using each of their strengths. Once freed the team goes about reconstructing the plan and Agent Coulson receives a stern lecture from Nick Fury about destroying the plane after just one mission.
So to me this was not as good as the first episode. It lacked a bit of meat to it . I mean I get that they need to build a team without going back to the kill Coulson route, cause that would be cliche to say the least. But it seemed slow. Also at the end when Skye texts The rising tide that she was in, to me it felt like a duh moment. We knew she couldn’t be trusted and it seems like agent Coulson agrees with the suspicion. My favorite part was Samuel L Jacksons small part at the end the rest didn’t hold my attention.
Canchita, the Un-popped Popcorn of Peru
Ingredients
Vegetable oil, for frying (about 2 cups)
1 to 2 cups canchita corn (also known as chulpe)
Salt
Directions
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add the chulpe corn, cover the pot and reduce the heat to medium. Once you hear the kernels pop (like popcorn), shake the pot vigorously to prevent the kernels on the bottom from burning. Once the popping slows, after about 6 to 8 minutes, drain the canchita on a platter lined with paper towels to remove excess oil. Season with salt while the corn is still warm and serve with ceviche.

They surprised me with that cameo already. Figured it’d be a major plot before any big names showed up.
