Wally and Jesse were caught in the explosion as well. Wally recovers but Jesse is in a coma – like Barry was. Cisco vibes on Barry’s ruined suit, and sees Barry somewhere else, realizing that Barry is still alive somewhere. Meanwhile, Barry is in the Nexus, I mean, the Wormhole, talking to the Prophets, or Wormhole Aliens, or whatever they’re called. (He’s not even The Cisco). Actually, he’s in the Speed Force, which is intelligent and non-linear. They appear to him as people he knows – Joe, Iris, his Dad, and finally his Mom, and they keep telling him, “Sit, Barry, Sit.” He needs to catch his shadow to get his powers back. At STAR Labs, everyone is freaking out about everything. Barry is dead, Jesse is in a coma, Wally is normal (still cause for alarm) and Caitlyn is still a prisoner of Zoom but no one has time to worry about her. Things get even worse when dead Girder gets reanimated by the explosion and is now a Meta-Zombie. He still is after Iris, which makes sense to me. She’s just that hot. Cisco and Harry figure out how to vibe into the Speed Force and take other people with them (Cisco is basically God now) and Iris acts as bait for Girder. OBLIGATORY CAMEO! ViewAskewniverse staple Jason Mewes, Jay to the episode director’s Silent Bob, is a guy who takes his date to Big Belly Burger in his Mom’s Hummer. Which gets trashed by Zombie Girder. Barry sits down, finally, to have a talk with his dead mother (ish) and together they read a kid’s book called The Runaway Dinosaur – which is separate and legally distinct from any existing published works of children’s’ literature. There are feels, Barry catches his shadow, Iris yanks him out of the Speed Force, and Barry stops Girder with physics. Jesse gets woken up from her coma by Barry’s Magic Fingers, Barry’s dad promises to stick around, and Barry and Iris get mushy. Across town at CCPD, Caitlyn is still kidnapped. Magneto, er, Zoom give a speech and rallies his troops so they can be mutant and proud! No actual dinosaurs were on the loose in this episode.
