Hot on the heels of Target Canada beginning it’s liquidation process as it prepares for its exit of Canada, Redbox announced Thursday that it too will be leaving the Canadian market effective March 5th, 2015. Redbox cites its exit based on Canadian demand not meeting expectations.
Although March 5th is the official day all Redbox kiosks will be turned off in Canada, the last day to rent a Redbox movie in Canada will be Friday, February 13th – meaning that after this point they will be available strictly for returns. If you do have a Redbox movie in your possession you may want to consider returning it sooner than later as Redbox has advised that some kiosks may be removed before March.
