Adobe confirmed that their security team recently discovered ‘sophisticated attacks’ which allowed for the hackers to get private information of 2.9 million Adobe customers. The information includes customer names, encrypted credit/debit card details and ‘other information relating to customer orders’.
Adobe also revealed that they were investigating the ‘illegal access’ of source code for Acrobat, Coldfusion and a variety of other Adobe products.
In response to the privacy breach Adobe said they are resetting relevant customer password to help prevent unauthorized access to those Adobe accounts. They’ll also be sending email notifications to those involved with details on how to change their password. The company will also bee advising customers who they believe had their credit or debit card information involved and will include recommendations on steps to help protect against misuse of the information.
Adobe has contacted federal law enforcement to investigate the hackers.
