



In 2011 Skype made headlines by announcing that its popular service had been purched by Microsoft and ever since the company has been increasing it’s drive to get it on Windows machines everywhere. Although offering a level of confusion to some users, Microsoft even created a totally seperate Windows 8 Skype app, even though the desktop edition was fully compatible with the OS.
Skype ahead to Microft’s launch of Window 8.1 and Microsoft has announced that Skype will come pre-installed on the operating system. Of course, many critics believe that this decision may end up being challeneged in court for anti-trust reasons. Time will tell.
