First of all I have to confess, I am a huge fan of the reboot of Battlestar Galactica that came out in in 2003. Part of the reason I think it was so good was due to Ron Moore’s influence on the show. That’s part of the same reason I enjoy Star Trek Deep Space Nine as well. Both of these shows featured a highly serialized story with a lot of emphasis on character development.
My hope is that these trends continue in the new series that Ron Moore is spearheading. According to Deadline, Syfy is finalizing a 13 episode order for a new series called Helix. The show is described as a dark thriller about a team of scientists investigating a possible disease outbreak at an Arctic research facility who find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation.
That’s all we know so far, but based on Ron Moore’s track record I will most certainly be checking this show out when it debuts. How about you all?
