Agent Carter Event Premiere Discussion [8:58]

Welcome to Peggy MotherBEEPing Carter!!!! Apparently Jarvis is just like a dog being taken for a car ride with his head out the window while Peggy is the one you ACTUALLY had her head out of the vehicle window…TWICE!
And of course Haley points out that perhaps the single best moment of the premiere was lady things as Lauren regales us stories of crime scene amount of blood and her ability to smuggle contraband with tampons. The obvious overt Mad Men style sexism just has to be brought up too.
The fight choreography was some messed up stuff. Stapling. Flying pan. Just flat out brawling. And of course we have to compare her fighting to Black Widow and Agent May.
The hosts try to figure out what Leviathan is but there’s not much to go on even for in depth comic fans at this point. But the best guess is that it is some early form or branch of Hydra based on the figure Leet Brannis was drawing in the roadside sand.
It appears that Buzz McCallister from Home Alone (Devin Ratray) is still making a fool of himself by strapping a chair to himself and running around the neighborhood at night.
The radio show device was a fantastic way to narrate the episode and still keep Captain America in the series without Chris Evans. And to teach young people how to slap their meat.
A 1940’s Stark car can totally outrun an explosion before it implodes.
It takes guts to put a glowing Molecular Nitromene bomb in your purse – just like Starlord. Bathroom chemistry? It’s more than possible in the Marvel universe. And our girl Peggy Carter thinks so far ahead that she brings in bourbon ahead of time before she disarms the Molecular Nitromene just so she can take a drink after.
Everyone agrees that ABC and Marvel got it right to premiere 2 hours of the event instead of just one because the first episode ended in such a weird place. And even though the second episode kept you hanging at least you were a little bit more prepared for the soft ending and continuing plot lines.
The hosts debate on what Sousa actually is and bring up the theory that he might be the first Hydra mole.
Peggy’s toolbox of gadgets is impressive too. From electric fence climbing gear to flashy guns, Peggy gets to take advantage of Strategic Scientific Reserve AND Howard Stark’s goodie closets.
Magical car #2: None of the machine guns hit it. Because, you know, magnets.
What exactly is going on with Stark and Jarvis while they set Peggy up?
This series is still in synch with the canon of the Carter One Shot. This series happens before the One Shot occurs.
The use of Captain America footage was needed.
This took a traditionally male hero route.
The closet full of cosplay outfits was fun.
Jarvis’ snark was both welcome and needed.
Haley and Lauren give their take on an all girl dorm building like Agent Carter will be living in. Including the disgusting communal bath tub.
Everyone’s looking forward to the Shield – Hydra plot will come out plus any other secret organization. And everyone’s hoping for a great starting run just like the first six episodes of The Walking Dead.
Howard Hughes’s fear water is also Howard Stark’s fear of water. And Howard Hughes’ warpness does in fact equal George Lucas’ warpness when he created Jar Jar.
EXTRAS: Kyber crystals are now Star Wars canon. And Haley Atwell is an actual Disney princess
Stargate Pioneer can’t count up to 5 words.
How much can Guardians Of The Galaxy attribute it’s success to the Awesome Mix #1.
Lauren’s Halloween costume next year will be Ewoking Dead, Copyright Legends Of Shield 2015
Lauren debuts her audition for a Luke Cage theme song.
Haley and The Operator will do a lot for a free t-shirt. The Operator will try to eat a Greek T-shirt on camera.
– losing to NCIS: New Orleans in overall ratings, kicking ass in 18-49

Adam Nelson: Yvonne would be my top pick [to play Captain Marvel], but I’d be OK with any of your list except Kaley Cuoco. Haven’t seen her in anything but BBT, so I don’t know if she has the range.
Black Adam: Not enthusiastic about Agent Carter. EXCITED about S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 Comic.

Independence Day is tomorrow and it’s such a great day to celebrate and be around friends and family. There’s food, fireworks, movies and games. But what about cosplay? Well last year I did my Wonder Woman outfit for the fourth:
And this year I’m thinking of cosplaying as Supergirl. With that thought in mind, here are 12 characters that you can cosplay for the fourth. There’s a lot of more of course but I would be here forever listing them. So here are my 12:
1. Wonder Woman, Nubia, or Amalgan Comics Wonder Woman

Marvel and Disney paid the big bucks to unveil the new trailer for Captain America: The Winter Solider during the Super Bowl. Lucky for us they have released it to YouTube early. Enjoy the trailer, I have to say this movie is looking better with each trailer.
Marvel Entertainment has partnered with Feld Entertainment to produce a live show that will tour throughout North America and will bring characters from the Marvel Universe to life. Titled Marvel Universe LIVE!, the show will feature the Avengers, X-men, and their rogue gallery of arch-villains. The show begins its two year tour in Tampa on July 10th and have its world debut at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on August 13th. The tour will make stops in at least sixty more cities in the US and Canada. Ticket prices range from $45-$150 depending on the venue and are on sale now at MarvelUniverseLive.com.
In an interview with USA Today, Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada discussed how the creators are focusing on creating a story that’s engaging on all levels, from the veteran comic book fans to the newbies.
“You’re going to walk in,” he said, “and it’s going to feel like Marvel, it’s going to smell like Marvel, it’s going to taste like Marvel.”
The show’s story focuses on the Cosmic Cube (aka the Tesseract from the Avengers movie), a powerful item that has been split into pieces by Thor in order to keep it away from the bad guys. But that doesn’t stop his brother Loki who’s devised a plan to clone the Cube’s powers and become a universal threat.
Thor will team up with his fellow Avengers-Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow, alongside Wolverine and other heroes for a mission that will travel the world to find all the parts of the Cube before villains such as the Green Goblin, Green Goblin, the Red Skull, Doctor Octopus, Electro and Madame Hydra attempt to harness the power in the name of global domination.

Set pieces such as Tony Stark’s Workshop and Loki’s Underground Lair will assist in bringing the story to life using 3-D projections and large screens that will change the look and the feel of the arena as the story progresses. But it’s not just the sets that are vital for bringing the story to reality, it’s also the characters. In order for the characters to bring that realness for the fans, it’s important to have actors who embody them. And that’s why Feld Enterntainment’s producer Juliette Feld says that character development is very important. “Everything we do has to start with what the fans want and what they’re going to expect to see.”
The show’s producers are putting together a cast which has the skills which match each hero and villain. They’re looking for people with aerial acrobatic backgrounds, those who have skateboard or archery experience, and others who can do motorcycle stunts which are needed for those who will play Captain America, Falcon and Black Widow. In addition to these skills everyone must have martial-arts experience for the action sequences.
Show Director Shanda Sawyer, who was appointed by Feld six years ago to re-imagine the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus shows said, “All the superheroes are challenging because they’re superheroes,” says s “We really need to make these characters come alive for people, without the benefit of CGI and quick cuts and things you have in other mediums. How do you create superpowers in reality? Half of it is really finding the people who are already pretty superhuman.”
For the actor who portrays the Hulk, it will take more initiative to embody the character’s personality and how he moves, but Sawyer guarantees that “he’s going to be incredible.”
At first, Quesada was a little bit shocked by the list of characters that Feld wanted to use in the show. “I’m like, ‘Come on, seriously? This can’t happen!’ ” he said. “It’s going to happen. They’re pretty remarkable in what they’re coming up with.”
Sounds awesome right? You can take an exclusive look behind the scenes of Marvel Universe LIVE! in the video and below and view some concept pictures of some of the characters which will be in the show here.
Thanks to the most recent installment of Thor, I have the Marvel films on the brain. Since I know we’ll all be waiting anxiously now for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I am sharing the excellent Steve Rogers’ American Captain to help scratch that itch. Steve Rogers’ American Captain takes place between the end of The Avengers and the upcoming film. As Steve tries to work out his confusion with the new world around him and grief for his friends from the 40’s, he begins to sketch himself interacting with others, all the confusing things that happen throughout the day, and his thought process as he wrestles with the PTSD that comes from going to war, being trapped in ice for 60 years, and being resuscitated and then save the world from an alien invasion. Cameos from his colleagues in the Avengers as they work, hang out and try to relate to him or help work out his problems are frequent and often hilarious and touching.
A lot of the praise for American Captain has been for the honest and touching ways it portrays mental illness. Captain America, the true All-American, sharing his very relatable struggles with depression and anxiety help shows how very real the struggles can be for such a huge portion of our society. The comic is all told from Steve’s perspective, in a sketchy pen-and-ink style. They are all hand drawn and scanned, which helps preserve the personal diary feel. It’s also fun to see the characterizations of the Marvel heroes in their casual mode, including Thor on a lunch date, Black Widow talking politics, and Tony Stark bonding with Steve over his father issues in his own roundabout and with-maximum-frustration way. The author, Robyn, is a doctoral candidate from New Zealand. American Captain is currently her only comic.
I hope book libraries never change, especially not the smell.
